XO

Ron,
Just a quick note to say thank you for getting the word out during my surgery. I'm still weak but improving daily. My eyesight is slowly coming back.
There is not much pain. I'm in Dos Palos now and will return to El Cerrito (Aleator place) next week as I have a doctor's appointment.
Princess is still asking for your address to send to you the material you left in Nigeria.
When on your death bed petty differences seem very small. Please forward this to many as I cannot see very well.
I also want to thank Dave Zirin as I heard he mentioned me in his weekly news.
I will be around for the next couple of months and want to try and give some talks during Black History month.
I hope all is well with your family.
Best regards,
Lee

Subject: Lee Evans Update 1/5/2012

All,

Just talked with Rosemary after she got off the phone with Lee.

Lee is doing so well that the doctor is releasing him early (today).    To be near the hospital, he will recuperate at his son's place in Richmond for a week.  After that, he's planning to spend a month at Rosemary's in Dos Palos.  He'll need annual check-ups in the future.

Ken Noel

Hello and thank you all for the support and prayers!
I am Aleator Evans, Lee's son. With my father and his wife's approval there is a donate page that is up and running at:
We don't know what the surgery/ medical cost will be. Also my dad will most likely be needing to restart his life in the U.S.A. per Africa's limited medical resources.
He and the family will be grateful for whatever you can give and please spread the word.
God Bless

Quick update as of this morning:

1. Tumor is benign.

2.  Pain is gone/under control.

3.  Pituitary specialist has just returned from Europe to east coast - due at Eden Center next week.

4.  Lee is fit to go home (Dos Palos) until time for surgery.  Waiting for final decision from surgeon today.

5.  Lee's vision is stable so danger of optic nerve damage has subsided.

All,

The gist of the update from Rosemary and the family today is that most of the issues have been settled.   Most importantly, Lee is doing much better and the pituitary problems appears solvable.  He is sitting up and eating for the first time in three days.  He continues to be quite talkative.  As soon as blood, sodium and other vitals are within the normal ranges, they will perform the surgery.

Happy Holidays to All,
God is in control and will win this battle. We have been in contact with Evan family Rosemary and Lucille and his wife. I spoke to Lee yesterday by phone and I was happy to hear his voice sound so strong. All the work and prayers and communication are working, the struggle continues. Keep the prayers going up.
